Plastics Recycling
PreZero collects and processes LDPE (grades A & B), LLDPE, Mixed Rigid Plastics, and Tubs/Lids. On both the East & West coasts, we source these materials from businesses and Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs). We then process them domestically in our plants located in Southern California and South Carolina. Having facilities on both coasts allows for a more sustainable materials stream and reduces the carbon footprint that comes with recycling internationally.
From our facilities we produce high quality LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, & PE resins that can substitute for virgin resins in many applications. In total our facilities are able to process over 50,000 tons of material annually and we plan to grow that number in the coming years. We will also add more facilities in various regions throughout the US to meet market demand.
Manufacturers that work with us are provided with quality resins that are consistent from batch to batch. They also actively contribute to a domestic closed loop by using input material that has the capacity to be recycled perpetually without losing value.

Organics Recycling
Organic waste decomposing in landfills results in greenhouse gas emissions. PreZero collects organic waste from restaurants, grocery chains, and other businesses in the Southern California region so we can divert to either compost or animal feed. We collect packaged foods that have expired as well as food scraps from kitchens of restaurants.
Reverse Logistics & Distribution Center Management
PreZero has extensive experience managing warehouses for external partners. To engage in such contracts, we require large volumes of material, a minimum 12-month agreement, and the agreement would need to follow a service processing model. In addition to managing our pillar commodities, organics and plastics, PreZero also handles sorting and baling of other valuable materials (fibers, aluminum, pallets, etc.) and our partners are rebated accordingly.

PreZero's Value Recovery Program (VRP) provides tailored solutions to our clients
that help them realize the value of the materials in their waste stream.

The idea behind the Value Recovery Program (VRP) was first generated by PreZero's parent company in Germany. The principle focus of the program is to successfully recover valuable items from the waste stream and divert them so they can be turned into new commodities.
PreZero US has adopted the program and has established the infrastructure to support large-volume generating companies across an array of industries. A few of the VRP target industries include distribution centers, grocery retailers, healthcare facilities, research labs, higher education institutions, and both hospitality & restaurant chains. For each of the industries in the target group, PreZero can be contracted to first conduct a waste characterization study that reveals where value can be recovered. From this information, PreZero derives a comprehensive report and proposal of services. If PreZero itself does not have the capacity to take on certain commodities, we will work to find the proper recycling outlets that yield the highest return as well as provide the greatest positive environmental impact. Once the VRP is implemented, our customers have access to a representative that will be on call to assist with follow-up support and continuous improvement.
A key component to the VRP service is establishing proper source separation. If materials are sorted properly, there is less chance for contamination and a greater chance that the materials collected will yield the most possible value for the company that generated the waste in the first place. The benefit here is two-fold. Not only do our customers see more return for their materials, but the materials themselves are also more likely to be recycled when free of contamination that typically occurs in co-mingled recycling systems. To assist with source separation, the PreZero VRP includes deliberate signage and planning with a VRP representative that make the sorting system easy on the employees who are actually on the floor working with the materials.
Companies benefit form the VRP by recovering monetary value from the materials in the waste stream and also by way of competitive advantage that comes with taking active steps towards supporting the circular economy. End consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of the ecological footprint of the businesses they patronize. Companies that fail to meet these needs will start to lose ground on their eco-friendly counterparts.
Together we can positively influence the communities in which we operate and therefore, the end consumers our customers hope to serve.
Food waste improperly decomposing in landfills emits greenhouse gasses.
PreZero is working to combat these emissions in Southern California.
Organic waste is a major challenge that PreZero is positioned to solve. According to the USDA, it’s estimated that 30-40% of food is wasted in the US. When organic waste goes to landfills, it decomposes improperly and produces a major greenhouse gas, methane. PreZero is working towards solutions that instead turn this food waste into sustainable animal feed and soil nutrient products that support the circular economy.
PreZero is dedicated to the EPA’s Food Recovery Hierarchy and therefore, we upcycle food that is no longer suitable for human consumption. It’s important to note that animal feed is the more efficient and preferred method for disposing of food waste when compared to lesser efficient alternatives such as fuel conversion, compost and anaerobic digestion.
We offer collection and de-packaging services for expired or damaged foods. Our programs primarily serve large grocery chains, food distribution centers and food manufacturers. All diverted food waste is tracked with our reporting system, so our clients can see the positive environmental impact of their efforts.
We will welcome inquiries from franchise haulers interested in forming partnerships to recycle the organic waste generated by their customers.

Once collected and processed, PreZero then diverts the organic feedstock through Bioko, LP. Bioko is an innovative joint venture between PreZero US and AgriProtein, a pioneer in the black soldier fly technology industry. The mission of Bioko is to use the power of nature to fully integrate food waste into the circular economy. One example of the benefits of leveraging black soldier flies is they give us the ability to process food waste into products that can substitute for fishmeal, minimizing the large environmental footprint of aquaculture.
PreZero is currently offering organics services to the entirety of Southern California, with plans to expand to other parts of the US in the near future. Given that California has recently mandated universal diversion of food waste (SB 1383), now is a perfect time for businesses to make adjustments in their everyday operations so they comply. PreZero is here to help our clients navigate the organics diversion process in a way that makes sense for their business. Together, we will build the circular economy.
You can't manage what you don’t measure. PreZero offers state-of-the-art reporting
so your business can track the positive impact of your diversion.
PreZero One-Source Reports show our customers all weights, quantities, revenue and costs associated with their materials for any selected time frame. The reports also generate an environmental impact statement (EIS) with calculations obtained directly from the EPA. Customers can share these figures both internally and externally to illustrate their commitment to supporting circular economy. One-Source Executive Management Reports show the information summarized by location, selected districts, regions, or divisions and provides detailed comparisons for any given time frame. With total traceability you're better able to manage your materials and therefore make the adjustments needed to benefit both the bottom line and the environment.
Our unique reporting system can also assist in compliance with state regulations. As the state of California continues to move towards ambitious waste reduction goals, it will become increasingly necessary for businesses to accurately report on their diversion. Our reports provide all the information companies will need to comply with state mandates. If you want to learn more about current and future regulations, visit CalRecycle.ca.gov.
PreZero provides reports that are specific to our customers' needs. They help with compliance, cost savings and reaching environmental impact goals that yield competitive advantage. Let us know why reporting is important to you and we'll work to get you there.
